Yes Kabu it is all different now . A pint of milk that I get from the supermarket is £1-40.

I think the price for the dog was 7 and sixpencce/ Yes one has to picture the milk maids as being rather lush.

That's interesting about the woman selling the dog...We never did much inventorying when we had a snack shop and a convenience store, respectively. Times have changed a lot.

how prices have changed and how far the english pound used to go way back in the 60's when I was there. love the poem of course.

Wouldn't be the first wife to sell something her husband liked,

perhaps in return for little slights or disagreements.  What great detail in the little milkmaid poem - I don't believe I've heard flirtation described more fluently.
