Re: adnohr,

She loves mostly the birds and other animals... the elk and the herd of horses across the road, the coyote who ambles through along the property line every morning... There is a great horned owl that sometimes flies over the skylight above her bed at night...

If she enjoyed her mountains like I do mine, I feel for her. Still, I have been considering downsizing too, which means moving, but maybe not out of my mountains.

Re: RPresta,

Great idea, to have them converted to a more viewable format!

Re: shamesehar,

I have learned to control my acquiring of things by asking myself before acquiring, Do you really want to take care of this thing? I find that, really, mostly, I don't.

Re: CCT,

She has been on a waiting list for a particular place for several years and they have finally given her a move-in date, in late January. She will be glad to be in town (Boulder) where there is more cultural stuff going on, but she will miss all the birds and elk and other critters who have been her visitors and neighbors many years now.

Well I suppose it will be for the best. One has to move with time. I hope she can find a nice home.

I am also looking forward to seeing photos of your lovely trip to the mountains. What we gather through the years and is useful suddenly becomes disposable...Life is such. But sharing what you don't want or need is another story of the same life :)

As the others have commented - your visit to your sister sounds like

a wonderful way to spend time - and the scenery has to be beyond gorgeous, too. Looking forward to the photos.

Great post.  I love Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park and all the country there abouts.  Looking forward to your photos.  I hope there will be a photo of your sister's house amongst them.

What a delightful visit you two had! And how generous of your sister. I had what few slidea were left made into a DVD to share. The “good” ones were destroyed after flooding at my brother’s house from a previous wildfire, so do take care to get them backed up. And those cookbooks are a treat. Some have a bit of monetary value. Glad you made it back safely with goodies.
