I know you would have stroked it, I was only a boy and the poor old chap was wheezing he told me he never went to bed, but just sat back to front on an old chair watching the hours go by.

I always enjoy hearing about my family's history whether it be from family members or other people...You capture the mindset of a dog well.

I hope he did show the pup some love when there was no-one around at least. Already knowing he was paying for the walks shows he cared for it in his own way. Love the poem! Of course.
