Good story , and a suitable warning.

Oh, boy, does this take me back to when my boys were young...

It was before "all dogs must be on leash" and there were small carcasses in the woods, or along the lake...

Today's painting reminds me of the view from my back porch when I was a kid - we lived in the Cascade foothills in Washington state, about halfway between Seattle & Portland. Sweet reminder. Thank you.

I hope they ran out in the Ocean and got rid of the smell!

It sounds like a beautiful place, and an interesting story.

What can I say?  Once in the middle of somewhere out west on a hot day we had a flat tire.  The four boys, while dad changed the tire, climbed the fence into the pasture which contained a dead, rotting steer lying on its back with the four legs sticking up into the air.  One of them kicked one of the legs which went flying and let out the stench.  Another one of the boys stomped on the ribcage which caved in with his foot leaving that covered in squirming maggots.  Then the boys began retching and vomiting.  We had to use our drinking water to try to get them clean enough so we could let them back into the van so we could move on.
