Well one would not get far if they were using a phone whilst driving. It is always wise to be on the alert.

It's a chance, but I minimize the chance by being alert of my surroundings. No texting or talking on the phone during those walks.

when there is ice on the roads and side walks, when there is a car chase or speeding vehicles yes there is always a risk when walking on a side walk with traffic.
