Yes, I've seen pictures of the grape bricks. My grandfather didn't use them. He bought the grapes. Hmm, perhaps I should write a post about that... Thank you.

There are other ways, too. When I was a kid there was a Bourbon Distillery a couple of miles down the road. Under the rules of Bourbon, you could only use a barrel once. They sold their barrels for $1.00 each.
Dad would b5 or 6 and bring them home. Pour 4-5 gallons of boiling water, Plug the barrel, and had me and some of my friends roll the barrels around the yead for an hour or two. He would drain the barrels and get more than five gallons out of each barrel. He had a couple of years of supply......A lot of the farmers around did the same thing....
