No, they had rolls of red ‘caps’ that exploded with each “shot.“ I loved them! Must be the Italian side... One could lay the roll on concrete sidewalks and take a hammer to pop them! Definitely unacceptable now, but fun then.

we used to play cowboys and Indians at primary school. We girls always had to be the Indians because of course the boys as cowboys got to win the game. Innocent fun, specially for the boys as a girl spending recess tied to a tree was not so good.

Hmm, my little brother had a Daniel Boone ####-skin cap and play six-shooters- now I have to wonder the same thing as you do? lol.

When I was in high school, my mom helped me dress up as a Mexican bandito for a party, after I had seen a movie about Zapata.  I guess that makes me a racist bigot, to the crazy rabid liberals.  Never mind that I am married to a woman from Thailand.  My costume won me first place, by the way.
