I know religion has been around for a very long time. Before Christ there was abraham and he was a moon worshiper. But Baptists....I don't think they go back so far.....unless they can trace their geneology to Abraham....I think those who can do that are Jewish, aren't they?

I am still waiting for Zimm to official challenge me.
I am planning on picking nuclear hand grenades at ten paces, since he is the challenger and I will get to pick the weapons.
Wanna be a witness to it?

It's not clever if it is not true. In fact it makes them look ignorant.
As I said, I know thirty years with in two thousand is nothing, but no company alive who would want to look respectable would say two thousand until they really were at two thousand. If this church wanted to look clever they can easily say 'We've been in business for almost two thousand years' and that would work and they would look honest.
It has to do with the church not be honest in trying to make themselves look better, when there is no need for it. Basically it is all right to bend the truth a little in order to try and get people to think the church more impressive. And yet at some level just by saying 'two thousand in a way that make it sound like it is really two thousand, you are lying to the people.
Ether that or they messed up by not knowing their history well enough and figuring the birth of christ (Even though we are now sure it did not happen when out calendars say), which really hurts their credibility.

I don't think they meant it literally. They were just being clever.

Over kill - probably
but fore some it does have a message. What may reach some people will not reach others. Which says somthing for over kill messages. Would not want to be accused fo leaving some behind because we did'nt get the message to them.
