Re: Corbin

I would not have thought it, I expect the stuff I grew was just an ordinary sample. Most things are an acquired taste I suppose.  If it makes money someone will provide.

Re: adnohr

Yes those tomato plants can be a bit dodgy to grow, make good weapons if thrown when ripe. I noticed in the paper today a firm has put up a growing house for tomatoes it will hold Half a million plants and is the size of 6 football pitches.keep your head down wouldn't want to send you a file in a loaf if you were in jail..

Re: PaT

I expect the process is quite complicated, but as you say the smoke is not nice.

We have to have images at times, remembering old acquaintances , it is a job to think of things to write about when on is older. Hope the eye is settling in.

You may have enjoyed it had you cured it by hanging it up for a couple of months in an enclosed shed.   I never smoked tobacco, both my parents did.  I may have smoked something else.....but that is in the past!

Growing tobacco is a great way to beat the taxes in the United States...Her dancing in the sun makes one realize how far away she is.

How long ago did you grow tobacco? No smoking! Lol. Such a lovely poem. Many a muse must slump on Sunday! Well done.

As I was saying, I loved the poem, the image of the muse

slumped like a discarded rag doll very aptly pictures how it is when words won't come and the ones we drag onto the page just don't like one another.

From photos it looks as though tobacco leaves are lush and green,

but I agree the smoke smells terrible...

Loved the poem.

Kentucky and North Carolina are our biggest tobacco growing states. You cut it in late Aug and Sept. You hang it in barns on stick, open the slats on the sides of the barns, and let the cure.

Farmers mad a lot of money from the tobacco......it's diminished somewhat with decreased consumption, but it's coming back because the billions of Chinese are really hooked on it now and their tobacco isn't work a crap.

Am with Kabu on the poem!! As for plants, I had some 'tomato' plants in my garden. After the 3rd fly-over by the Provincial police, I also moved mine - to the bush. I was quite sure they were not garden enthusiasts....

love the tobacco story. You probably didn't dry it properly....LOL... Like I would know. And the poem with the Muse...breathtakingly wonderful. What a mind you possess.
