I like how you explain the misfortune of the subjects, one can imagine the horror of anyone unlucky enough to be ensnared by the lady who apparently has the guile to render luckless men into her bewitching arms. In a way, humor is always slightly cruelperhaps it is the relief of knowing that one is not subject to that condition.
