laughing as i think just as i ended living in Canada you may have ended up in Iceland. Books have been my life long love and always at christmas sister and I received a book.

Sounds like a great tradition to me - a new book and chocolate...

Much better IMHO than staying up and watching for the Grinch ....

Oh, how I can identify with your post. I love books, and loved getting them as Christmas gifts. It seems life every year there would be at least one book for each of us to open. They were always unusually colorful books filled with illustrations and explanations of the arts and sciences: archeaology, astronomy, zoology, and the classics. Wonder if my being up to 3% Norwegian partially counts as having that Icelandic gene for love of reading and books. Thank you for your lovely post that brought me down a pleasant lane of memories.
