That pioneer aura remains, but in the years I've been here--no doing of mine!--it has become an increasingly sophisticated region, with much energy going into expanding the arts particularly. The air and the dryness and most days, the views remain as you recall.
Embers is a fine old lady cat! We old cats know a thing or two!

I couldn't remember whether I had ever been in Bailey so I just took a trip their by Internet. Once I get to checking out Colorado I get lost in wonderful memories. The mountains call to me. I'm so glad I have quick access to that when I get in the mood. Also my mind has turned to the Christmas Season....not the mad shopping...but the old fashioned country-type things and memories and music.

I was through that neck of the woods a time or two, my sis once lived
in Colorado Springs, and your posts bring back the feel of the place, the rarified air, the never-ending spectacula views. Plus which being there brought me a sense of the old west, the pioneer era when everything was new - except of course during the times we drove through city traffic. Thanks for the word pictures. BTW, I really like Embers - what a cat!
