Well it is a shame to see anything animal starving, but cats are quick off the mark feed one once and it comes back.

Farmers like cats...to a point...when the litters start to multiply to fast, the prefered control method included a burlap bag and the nearby pond.......

There is a group in the area that provides some care for feral cats. A few years ago my daughter adopted the kitten of one of them. His behavior, personality and entire being seems much different than her other kitties, or any cat I've ever owned or seen. Caring for feral cats is a challenge, for sure.

it is lovely to read of feral cats being cared for. We always had several on the farm to keep the vermin down and back then I never considered what their lives may be like.

I used to be afraid of cats, until one came into our family. We were
lucky to have her 19 years - she was still there after all the kids had moved out on their own. She looked like the calico cat on the Purina commercials. It's good that people are helping the feral ones and helping them survive.
