There's been a bear sighting or two about 20 minutes from my house...There is no such thing as a gentle bear. Even though there are videos of bears cuddling with dogs and whatnot, the bears are thinking about whether or not the dog is edible. If there's danger, it has to be taken care of.

The quite often wander into people's swimming pools. So often that Fish and Wildlife have tagged them and know them. They either let them wander back to the woods, or they tranq them and take them back to their areas. It's not unusual at all, and there are mountain lions also, not to mention coyotes.

Well we don't see many bears but I used to like Yogi and his mate.

A gentle & lovable bear? I a bear is coming at me and I don't have a big rifle...I get what I deserve....there "ain't no" Yogi Bear and Boo Boo out there....An AR 15 may not be big enough for a single shot. You'd have to unload the mag.
