Yes, they are pretty sturdy, and if done properly, they are not going to fall apart. Mine are awaiting the attentions of a device of several needles bound together that will blend the loose bits into a smoother surface.

The twig figures are Charlie's and he just made some new ones, miniature versions--will have photos of them later.
And I have to let you know... When Elsa was here a couple of weeks ago, I gave her a bag of goodies including a couple of your hats--spider hat and pumpkin hat--and she loved em! She is very into hats these days, she probably has more hats than some women have shoes! I gave her some of the others last time I was in Seattle. Prbably by Christmas, she'll have them all!

Nice photos - I esp. like the second group of pictures,
what you've done with twigs and yarn. One of the volunteers at the library used to make large crocheted handbags and then felt them - they were really nice, too.
