Your daughter gave you a great gift there. How interesting it is to hear other authors speak. Fascinating. And the research is so important.

What a great present for you. I can't imagine you even have time for it, but we do do what we love to do.

Yes one has to research if one wishes to be acurate. I suppose most like to just use imagination. Or write about what they have experienced.

I have found that totalarian (or in general Populist) governments tend to have a lot of similarities.
1. Promise the moon to someone.
2. Try to get government involved in one's life.
3. Shut out the enemy.
4. Find a scapegoat.
There are certainly others, but I'll leave it at that for now.
The course does sound very neat and sounds like it can help improve writers. Accuracy is key.

This does sound interesting. I love research. A friend read Tom Ugly recently and came out of his room his eyes popping...The research was all he could say. Yes i think I researched many hours longer than writing took. Gotta get the historical facts correct even in fiction.

I've wondered about some of those on-line classes. This sounds very interesting.
