Oh, this is a good one. As a woman from SoCal I can tell you it grates on many people's nerves here. Maybe in the 80s Valley Girls spoke like that. A psychologist once said women who adopt a little-girl voice are emotionally arrested at a happier time before something happened to them. ? The upspeak is awful.
