Myself, I don't like poisons of any kind for any purpose that anything else will take care of, even if not as fast. Too much collateral damage!

Of course everything has a motive it is to increase itself. One has to be careful even with weed killers. Recently a trial ground was enriched with compost which included horse manure. Nothing survived on it. it was found the the horses had been grazing fields that had been treated with a special weedkiller . It did not hurt the horses but retained its potent feature for killing a large selection of plants.

Did you know that Kudzu was introduced from Japan to the United States at the Philadelphia Centennial Exposition in 1876 as an ornamental and a forage crop plant.
The Civilian Conservation Corps and southern farmers planted kudzu to reduce soil erosion.

I was traveling one year in the backwoods of Tennessee at the time the State forestry was trying to clean out the kudzu. Boy was that growth a mess of take-over cllimbing everything and everywhere.
