Re: FS

I wonder how fairs still keep going, I suppose nostalgia helps. Of course it is mostly large rides to day. Not that I would fancy them when one sees how quickly they are assembled

Re: CORBIN

You see Corbin when we joined the Common Market . The stupid thing was we had to go metric. Of course older folk still think 10F to 38F today. Younger folk use the Centigrade measure. I still think in the F range most thermometers show both these days. I don't know if we will revert if we leave through Brexit.

Re: Taps

Yes It is not like it use to be Taps ,i don't think I would fancy the cockles on the small washable plates these days, or even farther back, little bags of flour were sold and the boys would chase the girls and push it down their backs. I guess times were really tough for girls.

Re: Pat

I do remember a warden shouting, 'put that light out.' We had a small crack of light showing through evidentily. I think it would not have made a good target for a bomber.

One has to try to keep the marbles rolling Pat,

Re: Kabu

Don't worry, you have enough to contend with, I'll see if a card will go through.

Incedently I cannot access some pro-grammes on my usual email page. Arthur said I should do a system image. Trouble is one would lose other pro-grammes. nothing is simple but I would try a restore. Perhaps one of your carers would know how. It is not difficult.

What a sharp memory, of dousing the lights to keep war planes

from spotting your fair. Seems not so long ago at times that we had blackout curtains on our windows even in small country towns around the world from the blitz. Wow!  As for your 2nd poem, your ability to conjure fair images seems to be working just fine from this reader's perspective.  Nice work!

I used to love the County Fair, and then the State Fair.  Lots of fun.  Now it is lots of fun to just remember.

Fairs are a lot of fun. In a world full of change, fairs are one of the few constants over the years...Sometimes, the emotions are so much that one has trouble writing.
