I hope they all lived happily ever after.
I was told it was a custom among some Native American cultures for young men to marry older women - widows of fallen warriors - the first time around, so as to teach them the art of being a husband, the traditions and stories of the tribal history, so that he can take a rightful place in the leadership circle. And of course, respect for women. Not all men acquire this knowledge by osmosis.
