We celebrated Labour Day by thoroughly cleaning the school room (and it was just ONE room), then a softball game of 'Chub' with all of us playing, and a picnic, where each student brought something to put on the table. It was wonderful!! Probably more so for the teacher.

Re: Kabu
I've always felt a tenderness for President Jimmy Carter and the way he keeps building houses with Habitat For Humanity even though he is over 90 now. My Dad worked with and for others until his Alzheimers took away his knowledge of what to do with anything and who people were and what they needed.

Re: I love this journey into the past, and love thinking about the folks
Definitely not a perfect group, LOL. You wouldn't believe what all I could write if I were so inclined. But, they were family to me when I was little, and every church family has its ups and downs just like kin families.

Re: TAPS - Missed you!
Thank you so much RPresta for always reading, and always commenting in such a positive and loving way. I don't think I have ever seen you putting anyone down. You are a blessing to people here at Blogit (and probably to everyone everywhere).

It is a public holiday up here too. I loved those days when locals came together in community spirit to help each other on one big clean up day...probably some went back to finish off what still needed to be done as well.

you grew up with, what a caring group they were/are. As far as I'm concerned your philosophy of the purpose of labor day is 100% right. Hope your day is a celebration.
