Re: Kabu

You are right Kabu, one needs money to enjoy such a residence. I know in the past it was a terrible time for old folk, it was not so bad in the villages as no one took much notice of things. I wish I had not written this, but most of it is true.

Re: I can't help it. I could see the place and the people, and it all

Yes Pat he is fine now and has a new girl friend who sits on his bed. I think we all remember the old scenario , as soon as an old person was committed ,we would say give them a fortnight. Life can be quite cruel. Some children can be heartless.

Re:RP.

Yes RP the homes around here are quite good , if and it is an if one has the money usually from one's house. If it runs out the council usually will pick up the tab. I think one is allowed to keep 20-30K.

Re: Taps

Sadly Taps money buys comfort, but sometimes it seems that children would rather pass the obligation onto others who think of it as just an occupation.

Re: Corbin

My Mother always had  fear of institutions. If one has money one can expect a comfortable stay.  As you say .

I really have a hard time visiting people in those places.....I pray to God, I will be as strong of mind as my father was, and have the ability to avoid them at all cost.....

When I was a little girl, Dad used to take my sister and me to visit the old folks homes in our city, the county old folks home for "colored" people, and the City Union Mission for homeless men, the home for the blind, etc.  He wanted us to know what the world was really like.

I can't help it. I could see the place and the people, and it all
