My Dad really liked Minnie Pearl, so I'm quite familiar with it. As soon as you mentioned her, my Dad came to mind enjoying her.

it seems we can never learn enough. I always asked peoples from other lands what their lives were like so I could learn from their point of view. And it was fun remembering Mini Pearl.

It reminds me of the allegory of the cave. There are people who slave away in a cave. One of them escapes and loves the outside world. That person comes back to save the others, but they have know interest, only wanting to be in the world they know.
