Oh, yes, it can be devastating. And one of Los Angeles's richest people, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, is the latest billionaire to become newspaper proprietor. He bought the LA Times and perhaps will be able to wake up the industry again.

Our local paper has gone most small papers are a thing of the past. change i suppose we must get used to change.

A provider losing a job is very traumatic on the family. Some people can handle it better than others, but it is very rough overall.

I do not feel digital is enough for newspapers. The replacement of paper newspapers with online news is detrimental. What is digital is mostly speculative these days. Secondly, people are consuming their news a la carte, going with news sources they agree with.
