Oh, could we ever compare stories of medical errors! I feel for you and understand. Just the wait for the BP recheck will cause it to elevate. I sometimes tell them I have "White Coat Syndrome."

#3 is one of the reasons that medical people have to carry such expensive insurance policies. Grandson Peter's other grandmother died of a medical error several years back when she was in the hospital for hip surgery.

Reading this shows that there is a major human element in medicine today. The key is to get second opinions, I feel.
For a time, the hygenist at my dental office would take my blood pressure. It would come back severely high. Now I am not one who has a phobia of the dentist, so I was concerned. I went to my physician to get it taken. It was fine.

Re: Kabu
Great advice, and I'll take it. Except for the aspirin, since I take a powerful blood thinner & dr. advised me not to use aspirin products. Funny thing is I've been more active lately. I think maybe crocheting in the La-Z-Boy half the time is not good for me.

Well Pat if your reading is OK at home it seems natural if you are a bit anxious for it to fluctuate when under stress. We have all felt knackered due to the heat,, I never thought to take a reading . When I asked the Doctor if old age makes one tired, he said 'Yes and sorry I cannot answer more than one query per visit.

Double your fluid intake on exercise days and up the amount of water that you drink anyway. Dehydration leaves the blood thick and sluggish and our hearts cannot cope as we wage. so all people actually must keep those fluids flowing. Afib can result if the heart has to pump thickened blood too hard. if you get pain and you know that your heart beat is irregular feeling in your chest and the same with your pulse, chew two 81 mg Asprin and call fro an ambulance if it doesn't respond.
