I, too, had the first thought that no war is ever kind, but then, it's not supposed to be kind. There may be times when something very, very wrong must be made right, I think.

War can definitely protect a democracy. As for destroying a communist clique, it just seems like someone else will come along in that nation to keep them going on the wrong path.

My knee jerk reaction is no war is worth while but then I think of The Nazis and Hitler and someoone had to stop that Monster.
