Children are usually more sensitive, I don't think you would have enjoyed eating the offspring after cuddling them.

Oh, these rabbits here ate our new rose bushes! Rrhhh! Rabbits are fine, just not eating my garden. Nice poem though.

We used to have a rabbit when we lived in Salkum. I was in high
school at the time. I never liked the idea because Mom had got her for a brood rabbit, with the intention of raising the bunnies for food. And then something happened to scare the mother after her babies were born, and she ate them. So maybe Sal was better off after all that he wouldn't give back her fuzzy friend.
