I put the hard to handle items in a nice cardboard box (you get sooo many from Amazon) gift wrap it and put a big bow on it and set it in the back of my open air Jeep CJ 5.....Somebody picks it up for me!

Recycling..... blah
Even if there was a unversal requirement to sort the stuff, many people would not. Personally, I do only basic recycling of paper and plastic. I think there should be NO recycling of glass, because of the danger you cite, and also because there is no shortage of glass, because it is basically made from sand, and there is certainly no shortage of sand in the world!!

Goodness FS we have 5 bins one for green waste this is paid for as an extra. 1 for rubbish .! for glass; ! for recycs and 1 for food waste . I have six as I have two green bins.
