The latter part of your comment's an interesting angle. I meant ours. I confess I didn't think of their own side only in an empathetic way. The issue of illegal immigration's complicated.

I'm not sure I understand the question. If you meant does it enhance my appreciation for my family, then it doesn't, since I already appreciate my family as much as I can. lol. If you meant does it enhance the detainees appreciation for their own family, then yes, I would imagine that it certainly does.
