Pat
Your post is heart-wrenching and yet uplifting, a difficult combo to achieve, but you did it, and did it well. I agree, it would make a great TV story or series, and also a book. Some people just don't realize that life is not always as it seems.

People read e-books it seems. The great love in my life; to walk into a library or an old book store and breath in hard. Somehow it has always made me feel as though I was absorbing knowledge and stories by osmosis from the laden shelves.

Re: CCT
War is pure horror. It's amazing how people can suffer so much loss but still be kind to others.

I like the idea of pitching it to TV. It would be cool to see something of yours on TV.

Well Pat in those days folk could not help being poor. It was no joke for my mother's family, her husband an ex soldier signed up for the WW1. The mother had eight children and did not receive a penny for six weeks army pay. In fact my mother said if a lady called gentry in those days had not loaned her the money they could well have starved.
Incidentally the lady lost both officer sons in the war, my grandfather was probably blown to bits in France.

I still read books, actually much more than I watch tv. Right now I'm reading an old James Michener book that I missed when I was reading him one book after another. I think your post of today would make not only good reading, but also info worth reading to learn.
