Pat

This was a very inspiring post to me, Pat. You have so much to offer to the Thursday group and I hope they all realize it there at the Center.

A diversity of experiences that you have shared with us. Walking a dog can be quite an event.

Re: cct - how's the new gal doing?

When I went to the front desk to sign in on Thurs., she looked at me but didn't say "hi." Her expression was as I'd first noticed, severe and perhaps disapproving - like Judge Judy of TV fame. However, my perspective has changed. I now am convinced she is one who is "walking through fire" and having a hard time of it, which may be why she's not radiating friendly vibes. I hope this job at The Center brings her some relief and a sense of belonging - and I intend to help make it so.

Just about every change--not all, but just about--has turned out to be better than what I left behind. We lived in one of the oldest homes in Olympia, over 100 years old with 4 acres of gardenable space and old fruit trees and holly... It was on an ideal corner for yard sales, too. We rented it, and it was sold out from under us, just about the time Charlie was born. We bought a new mobile and had it placed in an acre of off-the-road woods but most significantly, in a different and far better school district. Every time I regretted the old house, it was thinking of how much better the schools were that made all the changes worth it.
