it is the way it has been done that still gets mt dander up. You of course are a much nicer gal than me and will fit in and find ways to improve the lives of others at the center

Never mind Pat, you would not want to do it forever, although it would have been nice to throw in your own towel. They might have asked ,whoever they are. Seems like no one tries to emphasize any more.

Doors close, doors open... You won't have to put up with the annoyances and grievances at the front desk, and get to watch how the new gal handles them. And there will still be the writers' group.

The only job the new gal will be doing is acting as receptionist. I'm still the one who hosts the write your own story sessions. Will be on haitus July & August, during which time I plan to get my cataract surgeries done, maybe format a new workbook for the group for September's startup.
Of course it's come home to me that it's my job until somebody newer and more shiny comes along.

Ya know....when you first mentioned this, I must have misunderstood the situation.
Tell me if I'm wrong......
You have been volunteering for 5 or so years at a Senior Center, Suddenly some additional funds poped up and it's decided that they can have a part-time "paid Receptionist"...
And you go 'bye-bye"? Where's the logic in this? You have experience and you actually enjoyed what you do.....
What about the Write Your Own Stories group. Is the new kid going to be doing that....I can see the stories filled with:
"ya know", "sorry not sorry", " You're woke, so now things are, you know, real.", "things here are salty", and "The struggle is real"?
Please say it ain't so........
