There are a lot of things to be tired of these days.

Well Jean I guess folk will be burning books here soon. A good many bought wood burning stoves and now find they only get two small blocks for £! . Not only that the word is going around that wood smoke is not as harmless as once thought. No sign of moving yet? Do check your new neighbors before you move, sometimes it is the reason that the previous owners want to swap accommodation. One does not realize the importance of good neighbors until one gets bad ones. Ever tried ear muffs on the doggy.

jeansaw - That's a lot of work you have there...

I have unloaded a lot of what was my father's library, but still have boxes and boxes of books, some of which may come into the house to live here in bookcase shelves. I donated the ones I no longer have to the Salavation Army. Good luck. I'm tired of news that I hear over and over and over...

Do the vests really work?  Dogs have 4 ways with thunderstorms.....

1. They hear it way before it gets here

2.  The can feel the barometric pressure falling.

3.  The static in the air is what the vest is for...but people I have talked to say they don't work because it's only for the static.

4.  Their sense of smell can smell the rain from miles away.

As for being tired of all the items on your list, I am right there with you

on that. Keep hoping there'll be a little peace and good will one of these soon days. So I'll wish you a bit of sunshine, a cute puppy video online and a nice evening.

Look for a senior center or an assisted living center. Older people

still love real books, and they may be able to help you lighten your load. If there's a Goodwill or a Salvation Army thrift shop within driving distance they may take them ... oh, sorry, you already mentioned the thrift shop. Looks like you've already covered the bases. Is there a library where they sell donated books? We've got one in this little town, and once in a while the Episcopal church has a book fair.

I wish I had the money I have spent on books in my lifetime.  Now I need to get rid of "stuff" and no one wants the books.  I really enjoyed reading books in my lifetime, but times have changed.
