Reincarnation, which you and I consider to be factual, could be considered to be a type of spiritual evolution, in which we have the chance to develop our spirit into a higher form. Once we achieve the higher form, then physical reincarnation is no longer necessary, because our spirit has evolved. This could be considered similar to the physical evolution of, say, ape to man. Evolution is a metaphysical, spiritual process that allows everything to develop and improve. I am totally able to accept evolution as a gift from God, and part of his divine plan.

The idea or the belief that God would only create a perfect world, a world that would not need to evolve, is highly questionable. God could be more interested in creating infinite building blocks, components, and then allow His children to play with them, to develop creative skills of their own. God creates the playing field and writes the rules of the game....... it is then up to his creations to play the game. Evolution could be one of the rules of the game...... this is what I think, what say you?

giggling....I am getting smaller every year and your comment to my comment immediately I saw myself hitting someone over the head with an umbrella or poking them with a waking stick... I know this is a serious piece of work and i appreciate that, I just have this weird sense of humor.

Re: C C T
Man always thinks he is right. He writes on God's behalf many things that gods did not say or wish to convey. These are all the religionist tricks to serve their own ends. Interestingly though, as of now the Hindu Vedas or Upanishads have invariably proved right and has not till date, aberration of any kind, at variance with science has been detected. It is a mystery which, to me is very fascinating, filling me with awe and wonder. In no way I'm saying that I'm a votary of Hindu religion at the same time.

Re: FSI
Yes, FSI, that's because truth is truth. If religion says something is true, then science too should, one day or another confirm it to be true. Just see what happened to Kepler, Copernicus, just because the Bible said otherwise.

Well no one really likes to dismiss the comfort that there is something greater than
man. Perhaps we sometimes or cannot think beyond that idea. What one might call God is beyond our own imagination, like trying to think where the universe ends and not being able to imagine something that goes on forever. Human have always needed the comfort of a higher form, I expect most will keep on doing so and if it makes them feel obliged to conform to a more settled way of life, perhaps it is not to be dismissed lightly.
Just my view Abba.

I have never had a problem with science and my God. Yes I am a Christian and being a Christian I prefer to observe the teachings of Jesus than to wade through the Old Testament which for me is full of history and mythology and parables. The big thing to understand is that the Bible is not a book of Science. Symbolic so much of it, definitely not Science. i think my God is either female or androgynous. because of the creation of all the Universes my God is one of nature as well as nurture.

Re: Aba Brother - A very inspiring and thought-provoking post.
Devolve? Quite right, there is that possibility, too. But man is the highest point in the world evolutionary heirarchy. From here on there is no going back to lower forms, but when his deeds are continually abominable on this earth, he has to, of necessity, take lower life forms ... that is, devolve. But that's another subject and will require a full blog. You set me thinkin' dear Sis.

Aba Brother - A very inspiring and thought-provoking post.
We have, as civilization after civilization dawned and diminished, pondered aspects of your post. The topic of Darwin walking hand-in-hand with God, so to speak, may always be a source for disharmony of discourse, for it is innate in humanity to think; and in so doing we form our own opinions. That alone may speak a volume or two. Why do we think? And, do we ever devolve? Thank you for a lovely post, dear Aba.
