Now I am thinking of what are my favorite hundred books, and it would take a while to decide... CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR was a great concept, inadequately rendered: In that genre, it is totally Elizabeth Marshall Thomas's REINDEER MOON. These two demonstrate the difference between doing research in a library vs research in the field. Thomas spent time among the Kalahari bushmen before writing her paleolithic hunter/gatherer novels. She is also a lyrical writer who tells a tale beautifully!

The color Purple...powerful stuff but then all these books have made my life richer at some stage or other of my reading. I used to read every night or during the day. Somehow I just do not seem to have the same interest these days and after a life time starting at 3 it is weird to me.

Oh, I could not choose one; there are so many. How could I choose? It sounds hot there. Take care in the heat.

I did like Ann of Green Gables and Little Women. That was when most were a twinkle.

My favorite novel is Along Came a Spider by James Patterson. Definitely a page turner.

"To Kill a Mockingbird" is on the list. Wouldn't surprise me if it took #1...
