i refuse to eat any thing from inside but my little greek Mama could make chicken livers like no one i ever knew before or since. Delicious. ah i will always miss that little lady but in her early 90's it was time to go.

Pat - Those Ford wagons were the elite thing to have... How nice!

It must have been difficult working at night there. My dad liked chicken livers and I like beef/calves liver, but I don't eat it. The '57 was a classic, even new. My dad bought one, but it was so bad mechanically that he ended up returning it - and they let him and even reimbursed him! That's when our neighbors bought a brand new Ford station wagon so this took me back. Thank you. We ended up with a used Dodge. I asked why couldn't we have a station wagon... (I'd even written a post about it, but hadn't posted it yet!)

Well  no one was very affluent in those days and babies cost big . My Mum used to make a stew out of the neck and different parts of chicken, it must have been fine perhaps she added Bovril.

Gotta love car dealers. They have a tendency of witholding information.

Re: Did the Scoda look like this?

No. It was boxier, the hood much smaller, and it wasn't shiny. This pic. sorta looks like the curved lines of the 40s Dodge or Packard.

Chicken organs reminds me that when Ribcage was stationed in Yakasuka in Japan they always had Testical Tuesday on base.  A Navy man could have as many deep fried as he could eat.  He was sceptical at first but he learned to like them.  I think I would have gone hungry until Wednesday.

They're collector's items now...
