Thank you, big sis that you so liked my take on the poem. Another, which I am thinking of contributing is his Sailing to Byzantium. Hope you'll likr that one too. For me he is a fascinating poet and gives me a lot to ponder over before I share these with you all dear readers.

Perhaps Yeats was having a bit of fun with the bird-like eyes and the foul weather... I wonder if age was the cause of the fear haunting the eyes, or something else. To see the future? To remember the past? To see beyond? I find this an interesting poem on many levels and as usual, you have pointed out to us where to ponder in your very astute way. Thank you. Again, a great post.
