We do get some nights that clear and that cold!
I suspect western Europe and the British Isles are in for a cool spell in the next few years, what with the Gulf Stream slowing down.

Sounds like you were that kitten's Christmas gift- Calicos are so pretty!
Embers is doing so well, putting on weight, and she is on my lap or chest or hip, lying down, at every chance.

I still remember fondly my calico cat - looked just like the on on the
Purina ads and food bags. She was amazing, sleek and dignified despite having lost most of her tail when some creep dumped her alongside a busy highway, before my little girl spotted her as we headed out on a Christmas shopping trip. I hope Embers brings you a warm lap any time there's an unseasonable snowy day. :)

Yes watch for the moon it is always colder on a bright night. I have even known frosts at the end of May over here.
