very interesting post. made me think and wonder why i read so many books and a week later i cannot recall the author let alone the title or content.  i like thrillers, but love survival books and can even remember what i read, even if i do mix and match and sometimes run them together. enough about me, i love reading your posts.

I know what you mean about thrillers. They are a fast food of sorts when it comes to literature.

It's gotten so I really only want to read light-hearted stuff,

these days there's so much intrigue, drama, twists & turns on the "news" that a change of pace is needed just to keep balanced.
