In a conversation with a spiritual teacher, the teacher answered a question about reverencing him by saying, "Only God is to be worshipped." In those days, my ideas of worship were attached to images of self-abasement and negation, and I was suspicious of anyone demanding to be worshipped. So I asked what the teacher meant by 'worship.'
He answered, "Saying thank you."
