She is lucky she isn't trying to rennovate anything in the UK where it takes literally years to get permissions from a local planning board to make any changes to an historic building--as so many of them are, and many in great need of repair!

We have many such historic districts and they are a delight. Sure, there are hoops but there are also often tax benefits. I hope the custody battle gets resolved. Those are terrible.

In Oxford a man stuck a shark in his roof as though it was diving through. The council was not pleased but I suppose it might be a tourist attraction, I shall have to find out if it still there.

it is wonderful to walk through a section of town where heritage properties are deemed that they must be preserved. I remember a terrible to-do in Wagga where one of the central Wagga residential streets could not be painted anything but heritage green or used for commercial use...still until today. In the 70's one woman rebelled and painted her home psychedelic multi colors and was that ever a fight!!

Hopefully, things get solved with Edie's bitter custody battle...It can be tough for the historic society and the residents to find a balance.
