I totally agree about the oscars and opinions.

And the bathrooms at the theatre.  I haven’t been to the theatre since Narnia.

The show, imho, was the worst this year. I never liked the question about who are you wearing. Eva Marie Saint was the best part of the show.

pat, i thought i might watch the oscars, but got bored early on.  havn't seen any of the movies, don't recognize the new actors, and most the time don't understand what they are talking about or complaining about. and it is way to long to listen to the same speeches over and over.  and the women show more than i would like to see, i still like a little class, but that is old fashioned, i would like to thank...............................

Well when I look through old films I wonder.

Will it be the same feeling on new ones in time.

Nothing is new under the sun ,the same as the saying.

Amazon Prime has been offering all the nominated films for a price still less than going to the movies, and buying rip-off popcorn.

Re: Taps

I went to a Billy Graham event in St. Louis some 50 years ago - and hearing "Just As I Am" sung by 50,000 people was very compelling. I was impressed by Dr. Graham's interest in having everyone return to their home congregations and work to help their communities.

Ribcage and I watched the story of Billy Graham together at his suggestion.  It was very interesting, moreso than I thought it would be.  We did a lot of conversing about it and reminescing and I started singing, "Just as I am without one plea.... and Ribcage got tears in his eyes and asked me not to sing that.  After that was over, I moved on over to the Oscars for a bit and saw how cute Francis McDormand was experiencing her win.  I didn't know anybody else.

I am not much on award shows. I find them to be very contrived. Seen one and seen them all. If something big happens (i.e. Kanye interrupting Taylor Swift), I can just watch the interesting event on YouTube after the fact.
