Such a sad story and too much for children to have to deal with.

Pat - This is a fantastic series/post...

Yes, it's all so on point. It must have been tough on you. I remember my mother having a surgery and being shipped off to summer camp for two weeks. It was horrid because I got bronchitis and spent the days coughing on a cot. Not to mention worrying about my mom. And that was nothing compared to what you went through. Life has a way of doing just what you said.

Well of course you were worried Pat you were a sensitive girl.;, I should not think your poor mother was very happy.

She had to organize all this with little money and keep the children fed and looked after,

She was quite brave , it could have all gone for a Burton. Anyone can be nice and ladylike if they are rolling in cash, although they seldom are.

You went through a lot as a child...I remember a psychologist telling me that most of what we worry about does not happen...That has helped this worry wort as well.

As someone said "life happens while you're making other plans"!

Re: Re: Corbin_Dallas

Well....that certainly doesn't change the quality of the story, it was excellent!

Re: Corbin_Dallas

I hadn't intended to write my bio here - the thing about the tribe was a topic from the write your own story group - but it seems to have spun out of control.

Writing 150-word blogs (or shorter) on Blogit, making them as clear as possible, has taught me a lot about story telling.  The WYOS class has become a safe circle of friends an at times a therapy session as we all exchange confidences we may never have shared anywhere else. I probably ought to rein it back a bit in this venue.
