Re: overthe rainbow
Goodness I did not know witch drowning was active in USA . Poor old dears probably had dementia. Yes I like fruit picked straight from the vine or plant it always tastes sweeter.

Re: I've gone berry picking for profit, a nickel a quart, and of course none
Well Pat at least if you pick your own you know what you are getting. When I used to sell fruit and veg to a wholesaler the woman in charge said to a worker take the lorry for a run try and lose the swarms of little midges that are hovering over the raspberries.
Yes I remember Samantha. a bit different from the ones in Snow White and her gang.

Re:PResta
Poor old dears probably had dementia RP. People were always superstitious in the old days. Probably owls flying at night were perceived as ghosts or old houses creaking. My Mum would never walk up the road where a funeral had been when she was a girl. The old folks were always talking of spirits and frightening the children. Thank you.

we can buy in a shop compares to the perfection of a dead-ripe dusty berry picked straight off the vine. Pity the poor old thing, living in fear - thanks to Samantha of TV fame, and other Janey-Come-Lately productions, we have a friendlier intention these days. Thanks for the gentle wake-up read this morning.

Berries always remind me of summer no matter the time of year. Yes, sad back long ago one had to fear being a labeled a witch. Nice to be reading these sweet poems.
