Yes we call them flags most old timers had them in country gardens. Now they hardly have a garden. I would love to paint but I can't years ago I used to make flower pictures from dried everlasting flower petals,it was good fun.

Flags, I think, are the wild irises often growing in wetlands, darkest indigo, or bright yellow. And about this time of year, they show up blooming in grocery store garden sections.

Iris are beautiful I sent a picture to my DIL recently, her first garden as a bride she grew lovely iris.

I love the pillow, and also irises. Never heard them called flags. I have some iris (now bulbs), that were here untended when we moved in and am going to put them in a good spot in the backyard. Beautiful pictures. Yes, you paint so lovely, you could paint them.

The flower paintings & pillow are lovely, and reminders of spring.
My mother planted iris, and we, too called them flags. My next door neighor has a cluster of them growing next to the foundation, right where I have the best view of them.
