Yes we call them flags most old timers had them in country gardens. Now they hardly have a garden. I would love to paint but I can't years ago I used to make flower pictures from dried everlasting flower petals,it was good fun.

Flags, I think, are the wild irises often growing in wetlands, darkest indigo, or bright yellow. And about this time of year, they show up blooming in grocery store garden sections.

TAPS

I love the pillow, and also irises. Never heard them called flags. I have some iris (now bulbs), that were here untended when we moved in and am going to put them in a good spot in the backyard. Beautiful pictures. Yes, you paint so lovely, you could paint them.

The flower paintings & pillow are lovely, and reminders of spring.

My mother planted iris, and we, too called them flags.  My next door neighor has a cluster of them growing next to the foundation, right where I have the best view of them.
