If you ex was anythiing like his mother, I can see why "challenges" is a minimalistic term for what you went through in the marriage! You former MIL was a piece of work! I would have been livid! I never heard of giving a child that young a perm! What did you say when you saw what MIL had done!

Happened with a friend of mine when her ex had the kid for a day. Yes, nothing to do with the child, everything to do with power.

I know of a few people who feel the need to control. Those people are such a pain to deal with.
There is no way I would do anything with a kid's haircut.

I saw this story too and it reminded me of what my Grandfather Jelinek did as told by my grandmother. Their first baby, a precious little girl baby with lots of red hair. When she was about two years old he took her to the barber shop and had her head shaved because he hated red hair. My grandma just about beat him to death with the broom chasing him round and round the house. When it grew back in, it was no longer red, but light brown. There was no more red hair in their family of seven children.

eeks having two sons only means two daughter in laws. I am the one who tiptoes into their lives briefly cuddle up to the grandchildren and tiptoe out again. i still got it totally wrong with one girl.
