What's worse is the self driving semis. If something went wrong, those could take out a lot of people.

Like most things the horse seems to be coming before the cart. If the roads had been fixed to take journeys by sensors I think it would have been fine. Of course the expense is too great unless it could have been priced into the car and then one could have had excess to certain processed routes.
