Never be ashamed of your work. Every piece gives you either a place to look up to as time goes by or something to build on in the future. I can't write poetry very well, but I know a good poet when I read them. You are a good poet.

Re: Aba Bro
Thank you, but you're quite the poet yourself, and yes, I also love certain classic poets and admire a few contemporary ones. But you are correct, we should be able to critically discern what and how we write with an open eye and ear, considering ways each work might be improved upon. While, imho, there may be an inherent artistic bent to some writing, it is also a craft which can be honed and polished. So, yes, I agree!

Hey there sis Presta. I can tell you you're a much better poet than myself. For me they come laboured, your's, without. There are indeed certain classic poetries who write things I find difficult to comprehend, but yes I do love almost all of them. We tend to criticize mostly our own works. But then again it's the only way to improve and mature as a poet. Don't you think?

Re: Kabu, dear S. Sister
Many thanks for your sweet words. Ah, darling, at tiimes I think we all suffer from that a bit. But it passes. I'm so glad you have enjoyed something worthwhile, or that spoke to you somehow in what I have written. You're so kind and I appreciate it very much.

Re: Raysongs
Thanks so much, Ray. And boy, are you ever right! On both counts: 1) we are hard on ourselves; and 2) we DO do better when we don't care what others think. Thank you so much. Hope you are feeling well, friend.

this poem speaks of anguish and self doubt. ...Something that you my darling Soul sister need not suffer from . That is the grief for others for i have never read anything of yours that I haven't really enjoyed and found something within that speaks to my soul.

we are usually our own worse critics. I think we do better when we don't care what others think. Well said..

Re: CCT
CC, you are a treasure indeed. Thank you. I couldn't agree with you more. Who ARE the judges? It's all subjective. Tis not my "Time" about which I am concerned that may or may not come, but rather, the technical and artistic ability, and the judgment thereof. We can only do what we can do, though writing is partially a craft to be honed.

One wonders who are the judges? We cannot write winners everytime. Everything is a fallacy, just look at the price of some supposed works of art in painting once folk would not look at it, now it fetches a fortune. Your time might well come.
