must have ben a terrible accident and that poor man that hit you was obviously just as injured in his own way. polio was a terrible illness and it struck so indiscrimatly.

You were a plucky lucky little girl. I have seen quite a few girls with a limp, perhaps the have better treatment now .

I can just see that little girl clinging to her 'bucking bronco'

and how lucky she was to have a wise father - and a "Dutch uncle" to back him up. Great story.

TAPS

You brought out the childhood fears quite succinctly and Alfred must have been, indeed, quite a nice guy after all. Belatedly, a very happy New Year to you and yours.

Sounds like Alfred was a blessing, that he shared something of his strength with you.

What a traumatic fright for you! Yes, they worried about that happening to my daughter after her escalator accident. In fact, it was beginning. I'm so glad you healed.

It's curious how a child will perceive things, and how long the perception will stay in the young mind. I can sympathize with a little girl who worried she would forever hop around like Alfred.
