Perhaps cheap plastic gloves could be supplied. Although who knows how it has been handled previously. It is like a strawberry field with thirty pickers and one small hut with a latrine half a mile down the field. Probably more hygenic to use the hedge. Pity the offerings are not wrapped.

Pati - I am so with you on this...
Kudos to you for keeping your mouth zipped to those who seem to know no better about cross-contamination. It makes my skin crawl when people do thing like you've described. I never take the freebies at Costco because I've seen those same behaviors. Yes, gluten is tough on the tummy. Great post.

Over the last decade, we have been hearing a lot about people who find themselves having stomach problems when they consume gluten...It is gross when people are not using napkins and proper silverware.

Maybe there need to be signs: Take What You Touched like you taught your kids
It seems entirely legit and appropriate to look out for the general health concerns
